Dean Williams, COO of Open Plan Systems in Richmond, Virginia, has owned and operated furniture manufacturing facilities around the Richmond area for over 45 years, including an office supply dealership, Haworth contract dealership, Hon dealership, and broker/liquidation services.
At our current facilities, Open Plan Systems is proud to be a top employer in the Richmond, Virginia area, with over 150 employees currently on staff.
OPS Gives Back
Each year, Open Plan Systems hosts a company-wide charity fundraiser to help local organizations give to those in need. Some of our partners include The Salvation Army, Toys for Tots, VCU Massey Cancer Center, Jobs for Virginia Graduates, and more.
Our 10-acre complex includes 150,000 square feet of manufacturing, shipping, and administration buildings, as well as a 125,000 square foot receiving and production prep facility. We have invested more than $4 million in our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility and $5 million in inventory, allowing us to offer consistent and efficient turnaround times, some as short as 7 business days from receipt of order.
We take an active interest in the safety of your workplace. Every fabric we use is class A fire rated and our new and remanufactured products are approved by Underwriters Laboratories Incorporated. Many insurance policies have clauses limiting the insurance company’s liability in the case of a claim due to the failure of a non-UL-listed device.

All of our new products are covered by a limited lifetime warranty for the original purchaser. Our seating is covered by a lifetime warranty which covers all chair components including pneumatic cylinders, bases, glides, plastic seats, backs, and other structural components.
